Madeleine Kabat, cello

MADELEINE KABAT made her solo debut at age 18 with the Cleveland Orchestra. In the upcoming months, she is performing concertos with orchestras at the Spoleto Festival, Festival Mozaic, and in Medellin, Colombia. Ms. Kabat has won prizes in the Klein International and Fischoff competitions and has participated in festivals including La Jolla’s SummerFest, Verbier, Le Domaine Forget, Sarasota, and Zephyr (Italy). Ms. Kabat has performed chamber music with such artists as Cho-Liang Lin, Atar Arad, John Novacek, and Scott Yoo. She has served as principal cellist of the Spoleto Festival USA, Juilliard, Verbier, and Shepherd School orchestras, and was offered a fellowship to the New World Symphony in 2008. Ms. Kabat has performed as substitute cellist with the Houston Symphony and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Currently enrolled in the Artist Diploma program at Oberlin Conservatory to continue her studies with Darrett Adkins, Madeleine holds degrees from The Juilliard School and Rice University.
